Work with a professional director who has 30+ years teaching actors in theatre schools in the US/UK

Actors will learn how to connect and open up to their emotional life, trust their instincts and gain confidence so you do your very best in auditions. You'll learn how to work with your nerves so they serve you and not strangle your talent. Having coached actors for many years, audition preparation and performance are two of my specialities. We'll explore the most interesting acting choices for you in each audition so you get that job and/or get into the Grad school of your choice! You'll learn detailed exercises that you can use to bring life and vital, creative acting choices to any script. You will learn how to let go of non-productive habits that impede your creative process and how to increase use your vocal and physical expressiveness. I teach many styles of acting and have been teaching acting for over 30 years. I am the artistic director of Voice Theatre and have directed over 45 productions on 4 continents. Check out some of the videos! In America I have taught acting at; New York University, Stella Adler Studio, Williams College, Bowdoin College the T. Schreiber Studio and in the UK at; The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Middlesex University and in London's West End at the Drill Hall Studio.

Shauna is a professional acting and singing teacher and the artistic director of Voice Theatre. She has directed over 45 main stage productions from Paris, France to Detroit, Michigan to New York City and beyond. Shauna has taught voice and acting in many universities in the UK and US. She has served on the faulty of NYU School for the Arts, The Stella Adler Studio and The T. Schreiber Studio. In the UK she has served on the faculty of the Mountview Theatre Conservatory, The Bristol Old Vic theatre School and Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh. Shauna has been a mentor to immigrant performing artists for the New York Foundation for the Arts. She has led hundreds of workshops and individual classes where singers and actors have shed non-productive habits and built healthy expressive bodies and voices. She has taught actors from the Royal Shakespeare Company to jazz artists to Broadway singers and actors. She is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon and SUNY College at Purchase where she earned a BFA in acting. Post grad work was at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, UK. She is published by Drama Books, "Voice and Speech Warm-up", University of Nebraska, "Pushing Through", Arts Navigator-London, "Taking Legacy to Germany" and featured in Cune Press, "Stage Warriors". Her students experience huge improvements and change in how they use their voices and bodies. Her students become the masters of specific exercises that unlock tension blocks in their bodies and voices. Students develop strength, expressiveness and confidence and as a result have a technique that will solve challenges in rehearsal and performance. She teaches students of all ages to "own" their own instruments as constantly developing artists whether it is acting or speaking or singing. She works out of her own studio in the East Village in NYC, or in her home in Upsate, NY and online. She teaches many different styles. Here are a few of the schools she has taught voice and acting: The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, New York University Tisch School of the Arts, T. Schreiber Studio and the New Actor's Workshop. In England at: The Mountview Theatre Conservatory, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Queen Margaret College and Middlesex University – all members of the Professional Theatre Training Programme of Great Britain. I have been a guest artist at Bowdoin College, Williams College and Harden-Simmons College. Looking forward to meeting you and helping you become a better artist!

Shauna was patient and aimed to help establish more formative singing and breathing techniques for me. I've noticed a considerable difference between my singing prior to her lessons, and now after 5 lessons. I feel like I can sing through my diaphragm and am walking away with a belt of breathing, stretching, range-building, throat relaxing methods that are all entirely applicable to singing. Thank you so much Shauna!

I've been taking classes with Shauna for a few months. She is such an encouraging, warm and patient teacher! She's been helping me to discover my weaknesses and to build and strengthen them.

I was not able to sing. At all. Shauna patiently taught me the basics and helped me work through my roadblocks. Now I am able to sing on pitch and we are working on songs! I cannot recommend her more highly.
