I believe with Mercier that "what we learn with pleasure, we never forget". Thus, I strive to keep my lessons fun, so the student will be on the road to a lifelong love of playing the piano. Our recitals are designed to give you or your child a chance to experience the joy of playing for others, and showcasing your skills. I have been teaching for over 19 years, from children to folks in a nursing home. *** Studio Equipment *** I have a beautiful Roland Digital Piano that is equipped with a computer to aid in learning. There are games and skill tests that keep the younger students engaged, and the more advanced players working on their technique. *** Specialties *** My students often compliment me on my patience. This seems to be especially helpful to the younger students, and older beginners. I also teach what the student wants (or needs) to learn; if it's the ability to read notes and be able to eventually play anything that is put in front of them, or just to interpret chord symbols and read lead sheets for playing in church ASAP. I have taken students to the Recital tryouts at Texas A & M Commerce, where 2/3 of them were accepted to play for that special event. Our own recitals are in the Spring and Winter, and showcase the student's talents for friends and family. Memory work is encouraged, but not required.
