Clay sculpture (polymer, water and oil based clay) *****Online Only***** Students are responsible for purchasing their materials. Students will be given supply list based on their goals. This sculpture course will concentrate on clay building. Students will not have finished/fired/casted sculptures at the completion of their session. These sessions provides students ongoing direction and support needed to create in clay. All lessons will be assessed based on the individual's current abilities and their goals. At the time of scheduling, the student and I will investigate clay communities in the respective locations. It is imparative to know where you can go outside of the private lessons, especially for facities that offer firing. At the time of purchase, please relay what type clay you like to use (water-based, oil-based, air dry, or polymer clay). Supply list will be discussed during the first session and the list is based on what the student's goals are. Note: For virtual sessions, the student will need to create a conducive workspace that will allow teacher/student viewing of art work in progress. The student will need a workspace with lots of light. Often, I will ask to see the students progress, so that I may be able to critique and give advise on their work in progress.
About Sharron J.

In my sessions, I am more than a teacher, I am a mentor and a counselor, I promote positive energy for positive outcomes. I am the Artist behind JFA Studio in Baltimore, Maryland. My resume includes graduating from the Baltimore School for the Arts and continued studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art until I decided I didn’t want to be a “Starving Artist”. So, I graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources Management. My education also includes 27 graduate credits that were leading to a Master’s in Public Administration when I decided to discontinue that path. After twenty-five years in the public sector, I decided to revisit my passion for art in my spare time. As a youngster, I remember wanting to teach art in schools, but I did not want the restrictions that are present in the classrooms and more so today. All forms of art is a freeing practice that is practiced and developed over time. Art is very therapeutic. Self expression through art is an amazing experience. It's personal on all levels. I've taught and currently consult with former and current Baltimore School for the Arts visual arts students.

The absolute BEST and not only that but she is truly wise and I’ve learned a lot more about the perspective of art! We drew Codename Kids Next Door together. It was a lot of fun and I felt so comfortable and peaceful! Lots of positive energy! She’s very patient and supportive!
