The most fabulous thing about being an artist is that boundaries regarding creativity are non-existent. The artist is always in a state of learning. Art is a progressive practice that takes time to develop.

Students will be introduced to the color wheel, basic materials needed, perspective, and the differences between realistic and impressionistic painting techniques. Materials are not included.

Acrylic painting lessons will be assessed based on the individual's current abilities and their goals. The students main objective is to learn, by painting what the individual wishes to paint (personal projects that sparks and continues the creativity within).

For virtual sessions, the student will need to create a conducive workspace that will allow teacher/student viewing of art work in progress. The student will need a workspace with lots of light. Often, I will ask to see the students progress, so that I may be able critique and give advise on their work in progress.

For short-term sessions (virtual or in-person), the teacher and student will collaborate and determine how the student will get the most out of their session.

About Sharron J.

In my sessions, I am more than a teacher, I am a mentor and a counselor, I promote positive energy for positive outcomes.

I am the Artist behind JFA Studio in Baltimore, Maryland.

My resume includes graduating from the Baltimore School for the Arts and continued studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art until I decided I didn’t want to be a “Starving Artist”. So, I graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources Management. My education also includes 27 graduate credits that were leading to a Master’s in Public Administration when I decided to discontinue that path. After twenty-five years in the public sector, I decided to revisit my passion for art in my spare time. As a youngster, I remember wanting to teach art in schools, but I did not want the restrictions that are present in the classrooms and more so today. All forms of art is a freeing practice that is practiced and developed over time. Art is very therapeutic. Self expression through art is an amazing experience. It's personal on all levels. I've taught and currently consult with former and current Baltimore School for the Arts visual arts students.

Sharon was so personable and started me with exactly what I needed. I've skipped over a lot of the basics when doing watercolor on my own and I'm glad to have a direction. Results will be good.

Sharron is fabulous! My daughter enjoys each lesson that she has with Ms. sharron. She is very personable and is able to adapt her lessons to match the stlye of drawing the student is looking for.

The lessons fees are very reasonable and Sharron is very flexible when it comes to scheduling.

Overall, definitely worth it. We will be continuing with Ms. Sharron for quite a while.

Sharron was an awesome instructor!!! She was very professional. She showed up early to set up for my daughter's paint and sip party. Sharron gave very detailed descriptions to help guide the amateur artists. Everyone enjoyed the personal feedback that was given. Sharron made our party a huge success. I would definitely recommend her services.
