I love teaching piano.  In my eight years of experience, I've learned several piano methods, and I've developed my own approach which balances playing, listening, and analyzing music.  My students have told me they appreciate me for my clear, simple way of explaining things, my enthusiasm, and the personal attention I give to each student.  My primary goal is to train well-rounded musicians, and offer the benefits that entails, such as discipline, critical-thinking, and creativity.

I love teaching piano.  I've taught for eight years, working with children and adults of all levels of experience.  My students have said they appreciate my patience, enthusiasm, and careful plan for each lesson to achieve new skills and understanding.  Each lesson is accompanied by written exercises which teach theory and reinforce new concepts.  My goal is for every student to have the sight-reading, critical-listening, and understanding of theory to make them a complete musician.

Shahin has been great with my two boys!  (Ages 5 and 7 when they started).  He's very patient and keeps them on task - and has really helped bring out their love of music!   All my younger son wants to do all day is play the piano now!

As a non-native English speaker, I really appreciate Shahin’s patience.  His instruction is very clear, and his passion for music evident in his teaching.  I would definitely recommend Shahin to anyone who wants to learn piano.

Shahin's calm, gentle way of teaching me how to play the  piano made taking lessons fun and enjoyable.  The way he explainins concepts, such as note reading and counting the rhythm made it easy for me to learn.  I like that he is patient with me and goes at my speed yet still encourages me to challenge myself.  Highly recommended!

Kids are really enjoying the lessons, and feel like they have already learned a lot!
