Tabla lessons are customized to the needs, skill, and personality of each student. Both private lessons and group classes are offered, and each student gets individual and targeted attention. No previous experience with Indian music and/or drumming is required.

Taalim School teaches the classical tabla method of renown maestro, Pt. Divvying Vakil.

I'm the co-founder of Taalim School of Indian Music, and author of "Tabla Taalim: A Study in North Indian Percussion".  As a member of the Middle Eastern Sephardic music band, Divahn, based in NYC, I've traveled throughout the country spreading the art of tabla to non-Indian audiences. I've been working as a tabla instructor since 2002.  In addition to teaching at Taalim School, I am also the head tabla teacher at Young Indian Culture Group in Albertson, NY (Long Island) and Vidya Kendra School in Kearny, NJ.
