Opera Voice with Sebastian S.

Hello! My name is Sebastian (Sebi) Santiago-Rivas, and I sincerely look forward to working with you! My primary experience comes from studying classical voice (as a baritone) and then having to teach ensembles where the style is more contemporary pop or jazz. I have been studying voice for the past 7 years and teaching students and ensembles for 3 years. In college, I directed a contemporary a cappella group that competed in the ICCA (the competition from Pitch Perfect; yep, it's real!) and made it to finals in NYC in its first year of competition. Since then, I have been refining techniques to sing free of tension and with excellent sound production, while managing to switch styles as necessary. One of my biggest concerns is the comfort of my students; as a recording studio engineer and producer, I am often responsible for keeping my singers as relaxed and concentrated as possible while I coach them. You should expect a judgment-free and calm learning environment during your lessons, and I am always ready to listen for any possible ways I can improve that for you. I'm very excited to start working together!
