    About Sean R.

In the 20 years I've been playing guitar and drums, I've done quite a bit. In the past, I toured quite extensively with my band, playing with the likes of All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, blessthefall, Alesana, Soulfly and many others (for all you metal and post hardcore fans). I've been teaching independently since 2002 and with music store affiliation since 2006. I've also played countless corporate events and weddings as a pickup musician with Murray Hill Talent in Boston. As the experience piles on, so do the real world inspired lessons and tips. *** Lesson Details *** First lessons are highly variable depending on a students experience. If you've never played an instrument before, expect the first day to be a lot of talking. While there will be plenty to take in, it won't be overwhelming. I like to think that I have a pretty good student saturation point gauge. If you've been playing for 10 years, we will start by establishing what you know, what your perceived weaknesses are and where you want your playing to go. Do you want to be an expansive lead player or are you just looking to learn a few drum grooves that are beyond your skill level? That kind of thing. At any rate, after a few months (given that you've done your homework outside of lessons) you'll find that you know more about music and are learning new musical concepts on your instrument regardless of your skill level. *** Studio Equipment *** Paul Reed Smith Custom 24, VHT classic 6 amp, BOSS ME-70, JOYO Vintage Overdrive, JOYO US Dream, various other stomp boxes, electronic drum kit, drum pad in snare basket, Yamaha F series acoustic guitar, Squier Showmaster, Squier J Bass, ipad (for recording and amplification), Trivoli Audio stereo system *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide my own guitar and a full size acoustic guitar if need be for very beginning guitar students. The same applies for bass guitar and hand drums for drummers. A drum set player must be able to provide a drum kit. Music stands are a plus but not entirely necessary if an equivalent surface is present *** Specialties *** rock, pop, progressive rock and metal, alternative, punk, heavy metal, post hardcore, metalcore, swing jazz, bebop jazz, fusion, ska, reggae, funk
