Teaching since:

My name is Sean, and I have been playing bassoon since I was 12 years old. Originally from Northern Virginia, I attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA where I completed my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Bassoon Performance. In December of 2013, I joined the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL where I performed with musicians such as Michael Tilson Thomas, Joshua Bell, Renee Fleming, and Emanuel Ax. During my time in Miami, I taught at Miami Northwestern High School as part of the MusicLab program, as well as working with other local high school students during the Side-by-Side projects. In 2017, I moved back to the Northern Virginia area where I teach both in schools and privately, and perform with groups such as the Richmond Symphony, Kennedy Center Opera, and Pittsburgh Symphony. I have also performed with the Boston Symphony and Jacksonville Symphony. I am a big believer in the power of music, and have taught students in Medellin, Colombia, Nashville, TN, Miami, FL and Japan.
