Experienced teacher of 3 years, specializing in beginner-intermediate cello students. Through crafting personal warm ups, honing in on different genres to draw inspiration from, and practicing a diverse repertoire from the Classical Canon, Jazz, Folk Music and more, each lesson is uniquely tailored to each pupil. We will focus on entry level techniques for string playing and tonal harmony, and learning repertoire curated to progress the player in a way that develops better practice methods and remains invigorating to the student, charting development in both the technical aspects of playing your instrument as well as the theory behind it all. My goal in using this method is to bring out passionate performances from each student and ensure that each lesson is exciting and inspiring!

About Sean B.

My name is Sean and I am a professional Cellist, Arranger and Composer based in New York City. I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music where I concentrated on both the cello but also Classical Music Composition. My goal in teaching is to encourage creativity in performance to help further your practice, charting development in both the technical aspects of playing your instrument as well as the theory behind it all!

Through crafting personal warm ups, honing in on different genres to draw inspiration from, and practicing repertoire from the Suzuki Method, each lesson is unique to the pupil while remaining laser-focused on the student's progression as a player. My objective is to bring out passionate performances from each student so that each lesson is exciting and inspiring!

I am available for half hour or hour long lessons at my studio near Times Square. My lessons are best suited not only for students ages 12-18 but adult beginners as well!

We will focus on entry level techniques for string playing and tonal harmony, and learning repertoire curated to progress the player in a way that develops better practice methods and remains invigorating to the student.
