I am an established performer having played in such bands as BigDamnCrazyWeight, Bring Back Dad and most recently, guitarist for Guadalupe Blue. I studied Music Theory at New Mexico State University with the amazing Dr. Don Hardisty and Composition with Dr. Warner Hutchison. I am passionate about music and love and explore every genre with equal interest, though I am known personally for my hard rock bands. These are tried and true exercises that made me the guitarist I am today. I will also teach you to understand Music Theory and Composition. You will learn the WHY behind the music you love and comprehend it on a different level! Rather than just teach you specific songs, I will teach you to understand the guitar so you can easily teach yourself any song you want to play. You will also learn how to take a song in one genre and remake it in your own style. As you progress, you will learn advanced Music Theory in and enable your own ability to write music of your own. overall good teacher I've been taking lessons from Scotty for over a year and have learned a lot about theory, form, and style. Had taken lessons from other instructors and felt that I should had been further along after 1 year. One hour lesson time is perfect for me and I always leave wishing I had more time.

Great Teacher Great teacher takes time to cover theory of music, and does hour lessons unlike most teachers in town who do 30min lessons. Have taken lessons from other teachers in the past, and all they do is teach you songs without explaining the reasoning behind it. Have learned more in the last few months then Iâve learn in years with other teachers.

I've been performing guitar and vocals onstage seriously since my freshman year of college in 1984. I've performed professionally with several bands , most notable BigDamnCrazyWeight, Bring Back Dad, and Guadalupe Blue (current). I've played original music in clubs all over the US and even a few in our neighboring countries North and South!
