Matt holds a degree in Jazz performance with a concentration in guitar from the Arizona State University School of Music. His extensive training consists of music theory, ear training, composition, improvisation and arranging. Matt can provide many resources and insights to guide each student through their musical development.
Lesson topics range from sight reading/rhythm counting, improvisation, technique, composition/songwriting, song form and learning tunes, recording and jam sessions.
Method books, personally created lesson materials, music recording and notation software are resources Matt utilizes within his lesson plans.
The development of musicality is challenging but Matt has a way of making music education fun and enjoyable.

Came to Matt specifically for Jazz Guitar lessons. He did a great job of tailoring the lessons to my level and interest, with a good mix of theory and playing time.
