The founder of MPS is of the opinion that traditional acoustic piano instruction is more fun and more effective when supplemented by a variety of systematic multimedia computer programs which are connected to our electronic keyboards through MIDI. At Multimedia Piano Studio, computer-based, mastery drill programs and games contribute to the development sight-reading, listening, and motor skills. This approach increases learner engagement and satisfaction through interactivity and learner control of instructional pace.

About Scott M.

Hey there!

So happy you're interested in piano/keyboard lessons! I've been exploring the acoustic piano, electric pianos, organs, and synthesizers for over 30 years and I've been teaching piano over 10 years. I find it is always fascinating, exciting, and fun to learn new musical things! I've studied under several prominent teachers over the years: private piano lessons, college courses, and at a local conservatory. After receiving my BAEd, and MSIDT degrees related to education and training, I fused my love of music with my love of teaching to become a private piano teacher. In the process, I earned a Music Theory and Counterpoint Specialist Certificate from Berklee College of Music. Since then, I've worked with a couple of local bands and played with many talented local individuals. At Multimedia Piano Studio, you will become fully competent to play with other skilled musicians and to play in front of audiences if you wish. You will learn that there are many facets of keyboard playing while having a lot of fun succeeding at it. After you're firmly rooted in the basics of music, we'll focus almost exclusively on the type of music that interests you most!
