Fun, effective, and affordable lessons for any age. Hi there, my name is Scarlet! Teaching music is my passion. I currently attend the UNLV School of Music for Music Education. Afterwards I wish to teach music in public schools and in private lessons. I’ve been teaching private lessons since 2017 to students ranging 8-60 years of age. I love helping my students learn how to read, play, and sing the music they love. My specialty is classical guitar; however, I have also taken private collegiate lessons in piano, voice, choir, ensembles, music theory and ear training. Right now I am only offering online lessons. I look forward to meeting you! Happy to answer your questions! I strive to make lessons fun, organized, and tailored for your success. I strongly believe in using a variety of resources, such as: method books, standard & TAB written music, flashcards, apps, online resources, homework/worksheets, sight-reading resources, recordings, and more! Lessons are not one-size-fits-all; they are created with the student's abilities and goals in mind. Lessons will follow a logical sequence and review concepts in order to build and retain knowledge and skills.

I recently finished several months taking lessons from Scarlet. I learned sooo much from her! Her style of teaching seems so natural, and the detailed knowledge she has about both the guitar and music is amazing! She is a great teacher! She was very patient with me, and worked hard to tailor the lessons to my learning style. She truly inspires her students to work hard and is very understanding about the balance of life and learning. I would certainly take from her again! She helped me meet my goals of reading music and playing classical guitar which is something I have wanted to do (and tried to do!) for years but had been unsuccessful. She made me successful! Thank you Scarlet!, you are the best!

Scarlet has WAY exceed my expectations for my daughter! She is truly extraordinary - she has taught my daughter how to hold her guitar, how to read music better, how to improve her coordination with the guitar + SO much more! Can't wait to see her thrive with such a fantastic teacher! x

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Scarlet. She was so patient with my questions and she took her time to make sure I understood what she was teaching me. She was very encouraging and supportive. I can't wait for the next lesson!

The last step a pre-service music educator takes before becoming a licensed teacher is a college course called "student teaching". Prospective teachers (like myself) are placed with a cooperating teacher in their feild(s) of study. The cooperating teacher that gives the prospective teacher all the tools to start teaching professionally. During this time, the student teacher makes resources, develops lesson plans, develops documentation, takes over teaching 60-100% of the time, and receives critique. It is a rigorous process that tests the students' ability to teach and manage all the responsibilities of a teacher. This is essentially like an unpaid, full-time internship. I received additional elementary music training from the music director at VE. I also received additional training from the guitar director at LSA. Grades: K-8
