About Scarlet F.

ABOUT ME

Hi there, my name is Scarlet! Teaching music is my passion. I currently attend the UNLV School of Music for Music Education. Afterwards I wish to teach music in public schools and in private lessons. I’ve been teaching private lessons since 2017 to students ranging 8-40 years of age. I love helping my students learn how to read, play, and sing the music they love. My specialty is classical guitar; however, I have also taken private collegiate lessons in piano, voice, and music theory. I look forward to meeting you! Happy to answer your questions!

ABOUT LESSONS

I strive to make lessons fun, organized, and tailored for your success. I strongly believe in using a variety of resources, such as: method books, standard & TAB written music, flashcards, apps, online resources, worksheets, sight-reading resources, recordings, and more! Lessons are not one-size-fits-all; they are created with your abilities and goals in mind. Lessons will follow a logical sequence and review concepts in order to build and retain knowledge and skills.

YOU WILL LEARN

Based on the lesson you choose, you will learn...
- How to read, sing, and play written music in a variety of styles/genres
- The language and history of music; what makes music sound a "certain way"; different composers/genres/styles; and how to compose your own music (music theory students)
- Effective ways to practice and memorize the music
- Full songs/pieces
- Pick + finger-style playing
- How to play scales and chords
- Basic to advanced music and techniques
