Music is a life long journey that begins with the passion to explore! My journey began with teaching myself the piano at a young age and my hunger for music continued. I have been a private music teacher for over 10+ years after Graduating with my Masters Music Education in 2012 and my undergrad in 2009. I am a Kindergarten through Fifth Grade General Music Teacher and a 4th and 5th Grade Chorus Teacher in the Greater Boston Area. I am certified to teach in the public schools in Massachusetts. I am a passionate teacher who is friendly and outgoing. I enjoy the connections made between the student, the family and the teacher. *** Lesson Details *** In my lessons, I instill my love for music by providing encouraging and supportive lessons. Lessons include proper technique, music theory, ear-training, and music history. This equips all young musicians with the tools to grow. I am energetic and extremely conscious of various students' needs. All lessons are planned for the individual to grow at their appropriate pace. This enthusiastic approach I have found enables a positive interaction between my students so they may also connect and most importantly continue within the joy of music. *** Travel Equipment *** I bring various music to students' houses for further study. I expect my students to have a working piano (electric or acoustic) that will be beneficial to their lessons. I also request that students purchase books for the classes as well. *** Specialties *** All lessons are planned for the individual to grow at their appropriate pace. I use a combination of Orff, and Feierabend's aural learning approach to allow for students' musical ear to grow. I incorporate these teaching methods into the Faber and Faber piano series. My approach then allows students to have a strong base to be a life long learner in art. I instill my love for music by providing encouraging and supportive lessons.
