Creative Writing with Sarah T.

I first began acting 31 years ago and teaching in 2008. I was bitten by the theatre bug when I was only three years old and have been performing ever since. When I'm not up on the stage, I'm usually found behind the scenes directing, writing, consulting, or coaching. At 18 I attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, California. I studied at the elite school for two years, enjoying such classes as: movement, voice, musical theatre, and method acting. Life eventually brought me back to the East coast, where I continued my studies, earning a Bachelor's degree in Theatre and a Master's in Education. I also began to flex my skills as a director and playwright. I quickly fell in love with teaching, and found theatre to be my favorite subject to teach. I have taught a variety of different ages in various capacities, going all the way back to middle school when I helped teach drama to elementary students during summer camps. I worked as a Montessori teacher for many years, and began a school wide annual winter performance, which I would often write, direct, and choreograph. I also began an annual Shakespeare production for the middle and high school students, which I abridged and directed each year.
