Jazz Saxophone Performance

Learn Saxophone and develop as a musician beyond your instrument! Music is endless!

I've been teaching saxophone for over 10 years. I will work with students to develop a good tone, technique-through scales and etudes, and rhythmic internalization by incorporating drum tracks and metronome throughout the lesson. My philosophy is make music fun but also make it so my students have fun putting the work in to get to be a better musician. My style varies from student to student depending on their specific needs but I will always bring energy and fun to all my lessons.

Hi! My name's Sarah and I am a musician who has been teaching for over 10 years! I strive to find a path that works best for the individual. Every musical plan and self-made curriculum I bring to a lesson is focused on helping that particular student develop. It's never a one-size fits all lesson plan and I think that's why I love teaching so much. It never gets old because every student is different, and so is the way they learn and absorb information! It's always rewarding to see that "lightbulb switch on/ Ah ha!" moment for my students. I also put a great deal of emphasis on the creativity that music inspires and where it can take you. I believe the best motivator to develop in music (or anything) is to be excited and intrigued by it! What makes you excited? Why does that song on the radio give you happy butterflies? Let's dive in and learn all about it! I studied jazz performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston while on a full scholarship.

Sarah is very easy to work with, always interested in helping you the student have fun with the sax, as she has. Despite her great experience and background (or because of it?) she never seemed bored or working beneath herself with a beginner. I could say more, but I better take this time to practice!
