Teaching since:

Hi!! I am so glad you are interested in music lessons! Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember; I started piano lessons in 2nd grade, and cello in 4th. I have competed in both piano and cello, and performed in various venues throughout the state. I was a piano performance and piano pedagogy major at Elmhurst College; however, that doesn't negate my love for the cello! I have been teaching both piano and cello to students of all ages and abilities since I was fourteen years old. I have taken lessons in both piano and cello with internationally renowned instructors, and incorporate many of their teaching techniques into my own lessons. The lessons I teach are very comprehensive; in addition to learning the basics of the instrument, I focus on music theory, technique, and a general appreciation for music. I utilize music theory games involving both the fine and large motor skills, assign exercises from various technique books (scales, etudes, etc.), and expose my students to classical pieces, renowned composers, and prestigious professional performers. My lessons are catered to the individual needs and goals of each student; whether you're looking to really study and master the instrument or just learning to play some pieces you love, we'll create a plan for you! I also arrange recitals throughout the year, so students can have the opportunity to perform for their family, friends, and peers. Additionally, they will be given the opportunity to participate in competitions in the Chicagoland area.

Adults wanting to take lessons: don't be intimidated!! I have taught many adults, and it is a lot of fun! We work at an accelerated pace, and focus on pieces you have a goal to perform. Learning, re-learning, or enhancing your musical abilities is a great way to expand your knowledge and challenge yourself while also having a good time. It really is worth it!

Aside from music, my interests include training and competing with my dog, Gracie (who is also a certified therapy dog, so we volunteer!), volunteering with Lurie Children's Hospital, and rock climbing! I look forward to meeting you soon so you can learn to embrace music as one of the most beautiful art forms in existence.

Debussy's "Suite Pour le Piano, Prelude." It's not perfect, but I thought it would be fun to share. Enjoy!

A much slower, but very beautiful piece by Franz Liszt: "Consolation No. 3 in D-flat Major."

First recital with my very first group of students, many years ago!

I can play the flute fairly well...this was taken at a wedding gig :)

No profile would be complete with the inclusion of my partner in crime, miss Gracie!

Two of my little cousins, getting used to sitting on the bench and feeling the keys!
