    About Sarah A.

Hello Students! Originally from Wisconsin, I moved over 7 years ago to Chicago to attend Columbia College, where I received my BFA in Musical Theater. While I was at Columbia College, I was in cast a wide range of roles including the musical production of Bat Boy and the lead in Anne Frank. Immediately following, I focused my aspirations in a slightly different capacity, songwriting. For the past 3 years I have been singing and playing around Chicago at various venues. Whether you are a lawyer looking to improve their communication skills in front of a jury, a working professional looking for something fun and new to do, or an aspiring artist, I can provide you with a solid skill set. I'm looking forward to going on this journey with you! Thank you, Sarah

    Experience

    Music Teacher

    Sarah A.

Regarding my teaching experience, I have strong organizational and communication skills through my musical theater education. Here are a few of my teaching accomplishments. When I was a freshman in college, that summer I worked at First Stage Children's Theater Academy. I developed lesson plans for creative drama, improvisation, scene study, and body movement. By senior year I was the assistant director for a college production of "Songs for a New World". During that process, I focused primarily on monologue and song delivery with the actors. Students made discoveries through character analysis and understanding the show's musical content. Lastly, I worked with a female dance group called FEME where we focused on techniques in singing. We worked on pitch, blend, and how to move while singing and by the time we finished each one of them exuded confidence.
