Learn piano and flute from a classically trained musician with 20+ years experience.

I have been teaching piano and flute since 2003 and am a classically trained musician. I incorporate fun activities for my younger students to stay engaged and my older students learn the skills to excel for the instrument while relaxing after a long day of work or family responsibilities. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of note reading, music theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, and more. Let's get started!

I am so excited for the opportunity to teach music to those interested in learning and growing in their musical knowledge! I teach piano, flute and I also have multiple years experience with the Piccolo, Alto, and Bass Flutes. I have been playing the piano and flute for 20+ years. I have competed in various competitions, played in many recitals and concerts, and have taken lessons from many different teachers who have extraordinary gifts. I have participated in lessons/piano classes taught by college-level professors and have participated in college-level Wind Ensembles, Symphonic Bands, and Flute Ensembles. I have also taken many college-level music Theory, Technic, and Music History classes. I have experience being a piano accompanist as well. My day job is working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, but I love to teach music!

Sarah did a wonderful job giving our son his start in piano! She was able to work at his pace and was extremely patient. There were several days when he would go into the lesson feeling moody after a tiring day at school and come out smiling after his time with her. Furthermore, Sarah went above and beyond in her strategies and accommodations for his disabilities (our son was born with nine fingers and also has severe ADHD as well as anxiety). She also went the extra mile to communicate with us in a professional and timely manner. We would definitely recommend her!

Sarah is an excellent teacher! I started taking lessons with her a few years ago and she was very gracious with me as I struggled learning. She's helped me so much. I've come a long way from struggling with Hot Cross Buns to playing full chord progressions and being able to hear songs and play chords that correspond with the music. Not only does she do a great job of teaching the technical basics, she also includes a great amount of music theory in the process which is super helpful!
