Hello! I am a voice and piano teacher based in the beautiful Rocky mountains of Colorado. I teach all ages (3-99) and all styles and love all things music and singing! Come share a love of music with me while also having fun fun fun! I have a bachelor's degree in voice from the Ohio State University and most of a master's degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I also studied extensively at the Liz Caplan Vocal Studio in NYC while pursuing a career on Broadway and in TV/film. This studio trains many of the Broadway, movie and TV stars of today! I have been teaching for 15 years and in education for over 20 years. I absolutely love love love teaching singing and find that the key to a great voice and to great singing is to have fun and to relax and be in the moment with what you are saying and how you are uniquely expressing yourself through your singing and your music. This is all complimented with a deep knowledge of good technique that will help you stay healthy and sing in almost any circumstance and also help you to sing for decades to come without vocal problems. I have been singing and acting since I was 6 in musicals, plays, solo concerts, opera, choirs, rock/folk bands and I have even done stand up comedy in NYC and LA! I studied acting with amazing teachers in NYC and LA and studied film and TV acting at the New York Film Academy in NYC. I take all of the knowledge I have gleaned in over 30 years of performing and over 20 years of study and use it to inform my lessons and to teach each student individually as the unique and special and awesome individual that you are! I can also teach music theory, sight singing and ear training for interested students and I am well versed in the distinctive qualities of each genre of singing and I modify what I am teaching depending on what style of music you want to learn! In addition, I have over 25 years of experience working with children and adults with special needs. Whether you want to sing for fun, do open mics where you live, go for a professional singing career on Broadway or in pop, rock, country, opera or any other genre or get onto a show like the Voice or America's Got Talent, I am the teacher for you!
