- Levels Taught:
- Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
I teach a Suzuki based method for beginners which include games, songs, and a strong technical foundation. While learning how to play and sing the rhythms and notes by ear, students also learn to read and write music notes and rhythms by writing, reading, and dancing their own compositions.
My intermediate and advanced students learn a combination of the Russian/Delay methods, both of which I have taught and spent the last 25 years crafting into my own technique and teaching philosophy.
Additionally, I encourage my students to meet, learn, and play with other young musicians. My students can be heard throughout the Interschool Orchestras of New York.

Sarah received her Bachelor and Masters of Music from The Juilliard School as a student of Joel Smirnoff and Glenn Dicterow.
I teach a variety of beginner and intermediate violin to grades 3-8 in a group class setting during the academic year.
I teach master classes and perform with students in a Suzuki based setting.
I taught group beginner violin classes to 4th graders at a low income school.
With other Artreach teaching artists, I traveled to New Orleans to teach music to children ages 8-14.
Sarah is super sweet and patient with my beginner violinist. She is extremely encouraging. She finds creative ways to get my daughter to learn and practice. Lessons are full educational but fun. We are huge fans of Sarah's.
