Cello with Sarah H.

I'm currently studying Music Education at the University of Akron, and I absolutely love teaching! It fills me with so much joy to help other cellists learn to have fun and express themselves through what I think is the coolest instrument out there. My philosophy on teaching is not necessarily to teach the student how to play, but how to practice. My job as a teacher is to help the student develop effective practicing habits and to create a solid technical foundation for the students to expand on. It is not a teacher’s job to tell the student exactly how or what to express, as music is just as much of an expressive form as any other art, but to sculpt and refine what the student brings to the table on their own.
