Every person is unique! As a teacher, my goal is to find out how each student learns so I can communicate healthy technique in a way that they can understand. So my teaching method is highly individualized, addressing a student's psyche as much as their instrument, and relying on their feedback to make sure they understand successes or setbacks.
I am also a big believer in positive reinforcement. I want you to develop confidence in your voice! That way you have fun and keep on singing for the rest of your life.
In terms of pedagogy, I believe that the voice should be built from the top-down, first strengthening the middle/higher notes and allowing for a smooth transition between the passaggio before teaching any "belting". This will ensure that vocal health is the primary goal so the student can sing for as long as they want!
I have experience teaching all ages but if I am to take charge of a young voice I will need to ensure that children (under the age of 14) are committed to their vocal health by first interviewing them with their parents.
I earned my Bachelor of Music (in Music Theater) from Oklahoma City University in 2013. In addition to teaching, I have been performing professionally in musicals and films.
I look forward to singing with you!

Sarah is my first professional vocal instructor. My private lessons with her - whether online or in-person - are always fun and educational. Sarah is not only a fabulous vocalist herself, but she also can sing in a variety of styles and brings her vast knowledge of vocal technique to each lesson. She is currently seeking higher education in order to develop further as a vocalist and a vocal instructor, so you definitely receive great training each lesson! Sarah is always joyful, positive and encouraging as she brings me to the "next level" of vocal technique! She is a fabulous teacher for any age and experience level, which is hard to find in a teacher.

She is very detailed, methodical in her approach and has a great teaching personality. I really benefited and improved taking voice lessons from her. She has an in depth knowledge in vocal training. Also she can explain vocal technical details and musical terms to a student very well.
