Sarah Childers (Mezzo-soprano) is a New York City based opera singer. She is a diverse singer performing repertoire ranging from musical theater, contemporary music, opera and operetta. Miss Childers recently participated in the Savannah Voice Festival as a studio artist with the Sherrill Milnes Voice Experience. Performance credits include Rusalka (2nd Wood Sprite), Mikado (Peep- Beau), Pirates of Penzance (Edith), Die Zauberflöte (third boy), Hansel and Gretel (Hansel), Suor Angelica (Infermiera), The Little Prince (Rose). Contemporary music premiers include Derek Cooper’s cantata What If?(Mary) and three art song premiers in a recital “Love, War, and Song” and John Taylor Thomas’s O Pioneers! (Marie Shabata). Miss Childers received her Masters of Music in Voice Performance at Manhattan School of Music. As an educator, Sarah is currently serving as a conductor and voice teacher for the National Children’s Chorus (Manhattan division) where she teaches chorus and voice to children between the ages 6-10. Miss Childers has prepared students for auditions at Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus, and America's Got Talent.
