Violin with Sara V.

I began taking Suzuki Violin Lessons at the age of 4...after learning the entire first book on my older sister's large violin! Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I applied myself to many hours of practice; as well as, performing solo, with small ensembles, and orchestra. I was privileged to sit as Concertmaster of the Georgia Allstate Orchestra for three consecutive years, after which time I moved to Wisconsin. Having begun instruction under Nobuyoshi Yasuda, Professor of Violin at the University of WI, Eau Claire, I was honored to win the Young Artist Competition, at the age of 18. I then performed the Paganini Violin Concerto No.1 (first movement) with the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra. I have sat as Concertmaster of the Chippewa Valley Symphony for a number of years, and am a current member of the 1st Violin Section. I have taught many students of all ages over the years, teaching my first lesson at the age of 14 - my violin teacher asked me to fill in for her, when she was out of town. I believe students of any age can learn to play the violin, if they are willing to apply themselves to consistent work and study.
