- Teaching since:
I am a professional singer and teacher. I graduated from University of California, San Diego with a Masters Degree in Voice Performance, and from Oberlin College with a Bachelors Degree in Latin. I've been playing the piano since I was four, and started getting involved with choirs at age 7.
Students can expect to work on breath alignment, purity of vowels, and working towards finding their own unique timbre. The goal is to always find the most free, natural sound possible.
I teach voice students of any level (including absolute beginners and professionals), and piano students of beginning to advanced intermediate levels. Those who are interested will learn to read music and music theory while others may choose to learn how to read lead sheets and chord structures. This all depends on the focus of the student.
As a professional musician, I have had the opportunity to sing with some of the best orchestras in the country including The Cleveland Orchestra and San Diego Symphony. In 2018, I appeared in the chorus of San Diego Opera's Turandot under the baton of Valerio Galli, and in 2017, I had the opportunity of singing as a soloist with the San Diego Symphony under the baton of James Gaffigan.
While I am primarily a classical vocalist, I invite students to pursue any genre in which they have interest. I have coached Jazz singers, Classical singers, Musical Theater singers, and even Metal singers.
I look forward to meeting and working with you!
