I believe in the power of art to change lives. I have been working as a professional artist for several decades and I love what I do. My work ranges from murals to intimate portraiture. My resume includes National Endowment for the Arts funded public art projects, solo exhibitions and museum shows. My drawings, paintings and mixed media works are found in both private and corporate collections. I enjoy how the act of art-making improves lives. If a certain subject matter moves you, then we will begin there. I emphasize craftsmanship and solid technique. My work leans towards realism. If you are interested in learning anatomy for artists, still life, landscape and generally working from life, then I would be a good fit. My lessons take place in my studio. I have been teaching for over a decade and enjoy watching my students develop. Some of my best moments have been helping students build successful portfolios for entry into higher education. I look forward to meeting you and seeing your work!

Thank you for this amazing class!
Sandy is a fabulous instructor! As a complete novice, I needed help getting started. Sandy gave me a concise basic understanding of colors and had me painting right away. After only 2 sessions, she was able to give me a firm footing to develop my skills. She has a lovely easy nature and I look forward to having more sessions with her.
learned a lot!
