Piano with Sandeep S.

I have been playing the piano for four years with a private teacher who has continued to push me to progress each week. Prior to playing piano I played the violin for 6 years (age 10 to 16) and eventually had to give up that instrument due to a minor deformity in my left arm. It took me a while to find another instrument that I would enjoy playing. I took my shot at cello, left-handed guitar, sitar, and percussion and I didn't feel the passion and drive to play those instruments like I did with the violin. It wasn't until three years after giving up the violin I gave the piano a shot and I instantly fell in love with the instrument. My passion for playing an instrument started coming back very quickly. This was an instrument that was easy for me to start with as I was already playing complete songs that I enjoyed within just the first few weeks. Even though they were at the beginner level, they still sounded very good with the harmony and melody coming together. I figured this a fantastic instruments for individuals who want to get into music in general to start off with. Piano has helped me gain a deeper understanding of music theory, and I've recently been working on training my ear and improvisation. There's so much room for growth with this instrument which is why I love it. From a young age I have always been passionate about music as it has made a huge impact on my life and been very therapeutic in times of stress.
