Guitar with Samuel B.

Sam B. is a multi-instrumentalist and producer. A recent graduate of the University of The Arts, Sam received a BM in Jazz Performance for guitar. He is a current member of the up and coming Philadelphia based group, ill Doots (illdoots.com, illdoots.bandcamp) who completed their 2nd U.S. tour on August 11th. As a teacher, Sam recognizes that each student learns in a unique way and he strives to cater lessons to student's specific interests. *** Lesson Details *** I enjoy working on any type of music or concept that the student is interested in. Whether it be learning songs, practicing scales, song-writing, sight-reading or practicing chords. I like to find a balance between encouraging students to progress technically while remaining inspired and enthusiastic about what they do. I have studied a variety of styles including jazz, hip-hop, r&b, funk, classical, blues and rock. *** Studio Equipment *** Guitars, Keyboard, Akai Drum-pad, Books, Amplifiers, Tuner, Computer *** Specialties *** I have experience in classical and jazz musical styles on the piano including the Suzuki method. On clarinet I have experience in classical and chamber music styles and was a member of the Vermont Youth Philharmonia for 2 years. On the guitar I have extensive experience in Jazz, Hip-Hop and R&B. I have taken private jazz lessons for over 9 years and currently perform in a live Hip-Hop group; iLL Doots.
