I'm Samira and I would love to be considered as your next teacher! :) I'm a graduate of the Natomas Charter School Performing and Fine Arts Academy with a focus on pop/jazz voice, and I am currently a music/psychology major at American River College. I've been a music teacher for 3 years now, and I love doing it. My general approach is to treat my students like they are my friends, and not like an authority figure. I find that if my students and I are on the same level, they are much more inclined to want to do well! I've been taking private vocal lessons since I was 10 years old and piano lessons since I was 4, so I've been into music for a while. In my musical career thus far, I have performed in multiple musicals, hosted a jazz gig downtown, traveled and competed in a vocal jazz ensemble, vocal directed a musical, and won awards for my work in the vocal jazz field, including Outstanding Musicianship at multiple jazz festivals.
