- Teaches students:
- and Ages 7 to 50
- Teaching since:
Falling in love with the German language early in my high school years, I began reading German grammar rules, fundamentals, vocab words + listening to numerous German bands/artists. I then majored in the language at the University of Texas - Austin, taking 3 years of advanced instruction in one of the nation's most-esteemed programs. Keen on perfecting the language, I spent 4 months in Germany in 2015, educating students from the ages of 8-18 on the topics of human rights & cultural understanding (in the German language). Staying with a host family that spoke nothing other than Deutsch, I was steeped in the culture day-in & day-out; cultural immersion to the max!
Now enough about me - all that matters here are YOUR goals and wishes of the German language! Why would you want to take classes with me? Well first and foremost, I have a big heart for teaching - having taught German children about complex topics such as human rights, in their native tongue, 'put me through the fire' of language-teaching, so to speak. Similarly, I will invest all my efforts to not only teach you the language, but to lay down the foundation for your German mastery. Having learned this language as an adult, rather than being raised with it, I can guide you through the step-by-step process of later-in-life learning.
The key is to learn the fundamentals, draw parallels to your current knowledge base, expand your vocabulary base, and establish a rigorous routine. Together, we will do these things to ensure that you not only learn the language short-term, but that you solidify it into your skill-set and create a lifelong journey with it!
I teach younger students, up to adolescents and adults. Whether you: need help with your homework; are looking to become conversational; are seeking to jump from beginner to advanced, I'm excited for us to begin this fun, informative, and challenging journey together!
"Bis hoffentlich bald!" - Hope to talk to you soon!

For two years during university, I experienced Sami's knowledge and mastery of the German language. He was excellent at explaining difficult grammar points in an easily understandable way, and my language skills improved greatly while working with him. Sami teaches well and maintains a positive, patient attitude at all times!+ Read More
I am 100% sure that the only reason I got an A in my German 2 class was because of Sami. I'm pretty serious about actually learning German, not just getting by in class, and after working with Sami for a semester, it was pretty clear that my German had improved so much more than it had previous to Sami. Sami's really patient, and he really engages you during the lessons and gets you talking. I'm going to Germany this summer and I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to actually speak to people, and not just conjugate verbs at them!+ Read More
