Hello! My name is Samantha, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College and a TESOL certification. I received my B.A in Creative writing and am a strong supporter of using writing as a tool for self expression. I have taught over 1000 ESL classes! I really enjoy helping students realize that learning can be fun and inspiring them to continue on their path through the English language. My lessons will be fun, exciting and specific to your child's learning needs, goals and personal interests. In my classroom students can expect a positive, uplifting and encouraging learning environment. My teaching philosophy is that students learn best when they feel a connection to the material and so I will build my classes based on a student's interests, this way the student will be motivated to learn and see a relationship between what they learn and their lives. I also believe in positive encouragement and correction, we learn from our mistakes and I think it is important to highlight the growing process in learning. In my classroom I notice and appreciate effort and will pay attention to my students' journey and make sure they see their own progress and feel pride in their accomplishments and growth.
