    About Samantha G.

    (5)
For over 10 years, Samantha has combined her love of music with her passion of cultivating an understanding and affinity to music in others by maintaining a private voice and piano studio for all ages and levels. As a performer herself, Samantha understands what it is like to be a student. Therefore, she makes it a goal to create a warm and nurturing environment while simultaneously challenging and daring her students to reach beyond what they think is possible. A current voice student wrote this about Samantha: "I love taking lessons with Samantha! She really has a lot of patience and works well with my voice. She doesn't give up on helping me reach notes, and makes me realize that I can do more with my voice than I would expect. She has developed my voice in the best way possible. I look forward to every lesson with her!" In addition to teaching, Samantha maintains an active performance schedule as an opera singer. With over 20 roles in her performance repertoire, soprano Samantha Geraci-Yee delivers a rich and powerful sound in the opera, concert, and musical theatre genres. Highlights include portrayals as Gilda (Rigoletto), Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), Liat (South Pacific), Yum-Yum (The Mikado), Tuptim (The King and I), and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni). Samantha has been engaged by organizations including Central Florida Lyric Opera, Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, Long Beach Opera, Pacific Opera Project, City Garage Theatre, ConcertOPERA Philadelphia, Emerald City Opera, Independent Opera Company, Pacific Opera Encore Performances, and Poor Richard’s Opera, among many others. Upcoming performances include Liat in South Pacific for St. Petersburg Opera and Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica for Chelsea Opera. Samantha completed her Bachelor of Music Degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music and her Master of Music Degree from Temple University. A Little More about Lessons with Samantha. . . One of my strengths as a teacher is that I can easily cater and adjust to the needs of the student and their learning processes. I formulate my lesson plans according to the level, experience, and goals of the student. Each lesson is extremely personalized and highly individualized to maximize the potential success of the student during our time together. Research has proven that performing music is one of the few activities that engages both the left and the right portions of the brain simultaneously. Towards this end, my teaching places equal importance on developing a strong technique all while nurturing creative instincts. All ages and levels are welcomed!
