Hi, there! My name is Sally and I can't wait to meet you! I've been tutoring since 2013 and have loved helping my students not only understand/learn the material they're struggling with, but also helping them to find an interest in the subject itself. I went to Western Illinois University and earned a degree in Atmospheric Science with a minor in Mathematics. I graduated with a 3.94 GPA on a 4.0 scale. I'm a passionate and caring person and my teaching style is fun, challenging, and geared towards the individual. I know math and science can be particularly tough subjects and I thoroughly enjoy helping others grasp the difficult concepts involved. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

My daughter always struggled with Algebra, but Sally has found away to make a subject my daughter hated to study both understandable and engaging. I can't recommend her highly enough!

    Experience

    Private Tutor

    May, 2015 - Present

    Sycamore, IL

I have been providing private tutoring services for the last year and half in my hometown of Sycamore, IL. After tutoring at Western Illinois University, I found that I had a true passion for one on one tutoring. Helping someone to grasp a concept that is particularly hard for them to understand and watching them figure it out brings me so much joy. I've decided to continue with this work as I have a lot of passion for it. I've privately tutored anywhere from 3rd graders to college students, in subjects such as elementary math, pre-algebra, astronomy, meteorology, and calculus. My students have gone on to improve their testing performance and achieve higher grades, as well as find a new interest in the subject at hand.

    Departmental Tutor

    Aug, 2013 - May, 2015

    Western Illinois University

I provided tutoring services to all students in the atmospheric sciences department, this included all required classes for the program (physical science, physics, and math). Students contacted me on an as needed basis. For some students, I would just help them once or twice throughout the year with concepts that particularly challenged them. For other students we would meet each week for the entire semester, as they required more help with a specific class.
