Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
In my almost twenty-five years of teaching experience, I have taught a wide range of students in age and levels: from high school to college, professional, adult and avocational. Because of this, I have the ability to teach each student based on their own individual needs. As a result, I have enjoyed a wonderful rapport with all my students, since I make them comfortable and help them feel a difference in their singing from the very first lesson. This way, there is an atmosphere of trust and ease so that students are free enough to explore and ask questions. Something that is an important part of my teaching is simplifying and clarifying the basics. Being able to grasp a concept is a confidence builder for students. Then, they can thrive and approach their practice sessions with joy. Therefore, they continue to make progress and are proud of the work they do. Most importantly, I like to create a positive and productive environment for the learning process, so that my students can develop consistently as young musicians. They can have both artistry and a sound technical foundation. When these things come together, watching my students grow, as performers, is extremely rewarding for me.

I earned her Master of Music from the New England Conservatory, and studied at the Hochschule for Musik in Munich, Germany and the Conservatoire de Versailles in France. In addition, I am a recipient of a 2017 Artist Initiative grant made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Singing · In studio

Sahar is very patient, detailed and supportive in her approach.
Not only is she an excellent technician, but she is also a wonderful artist.
She explains things very clearly and allows me to be musical and expressive. She also works with me at my own pace, which has helped me make very steady progress.
