For the last six years I have been the artistic director of Ladyslipper Ensemble, and also perform with the group
In the past I have taught at New England Conservatory’s Division of Preparatory and Continuing Education, Wellesley College, Phillips Exeter Academy, in New Hampshire, Salve Regina University, in Newport, Rhodes Island, College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University, in Collegeville, Minnesota, as well as the Wellesley Composers’ Conference, where I was a chamber music coach. Also in Minnesota, I taught privately at Stillwater Area High School, The Saint Paul Conservatory of music, as well as St. Joseph's School of Music. In 2015, I joined the voice faculty at McNally Smith College of Music.
I earned her Master of Music from the New England Conservatory, and studied at the Hochschule for Musik in Munich, Germany and the Conservatoire de Versailles in France. In addition, I am a recipient of a 2017 Artist Initiative grant made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Chamber Music America (CMA) is an American non-profit organization that provides small ensemble professionals with access to a variety of professional development, networking, and funding resources. Sahar is very patient, detailed and supportive in her approach.
Not only is she an excellent technician, but she is also a wonderful artist.
She explains things very clearly and allows me to be musical and expressive. She also works with me at my own pace, which has helped me make very steady progress.
