Sadie is a professional horn player, living and performing the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area. Acclaimed for her “polished tone”, Glass appears regularly as soloist and principal horn with period-instrument and modern ensembles across North America, including American Bach Soloists, Mercury: the Orchestra Redefined, and Sacramento Philharmonia and Opera. Sadie is on faculty at the Pacific Union College (PUC) in Angwin, CA, where she provides applied lessons to horn and trumpet majors, coaches chamber ensembles, and teaches academic courses. She believes in all students having a strong understanding of fundamentals and assists students on all areas of musicianship from solo to orchestral training. Along with modern technique, she teaches natural horn and baroque horn techniques. Whether you want to learn horn, trumpet, or have Sadie work with your chamber ensemble, she is happy to tailor lessons to each student’s needs, developing creative and engaging lessons.

    Experience

    Brass Teaching Artist

    Aug, 2016 - Present

    Valley Vibes El Sistema Program

As the Brass Teaching Artist at Valley Vibes El Sistema Program, I work with students in first grade through 8th grade learning trumpet and trombone. Through daily lessons, we work on orchestra and wind ensemble music, theory and musicianship, singing, and brass technique.

    Adjunct Professor

    Sep, 2013 - Present

    Pacific Union College

Currently, I am on faculty at Pacific Union College (PUC) in Angwin, CA where I have worked for the past three academic years. While at PUC I have taught both horn and trumpet applied lessons, created and taught the brass performance and horn pedagogy classes, coached the PUC horn quartet, and taught the music synthesis course using Cubase. I have assisted students and community members with graduate school auditions and applications, summer festival applications, and recitals. I have recruited students by visiting high schools, adjudicated festivals, and as a guest clinician, lecturer, and performer.

    Freelance Professional Musician

    Aug, 2010 - Present

Professional Orchestras and Ensembles throughout America

As a freelance professional musician, I travel throughout the country to perform and present lectures as a soloist and with ensembles. I have performed with some of the country's premier early music groups such as American Bach Soloists and Mercury: the orchestra redefined. I also perform in the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area with modern orchestras, such as Santa Rosa Symphony, Monterey Symphony, Symphony Silicon Valley, and Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera.

    Private Lesson Instructor

    Aug, 2008 - Present

    Sadie Glass Private Lesson Instructor

I have been teaching private lessons since 2008 across the country. I teach horn, trumpet, natural horn, and baroque horn. Here is a quote from parent: "Sadie Glass' evident passion and dedication inform each lesson she teaches our son, Ike. In addition to technique and theory, Sadie takes time to unfold some nuance in the exercises and compositions Ike studies with her. His trumpet performance has improved significantly since beginning his work with Sadie."
