Hello beautiful reflections, I have been teaching since 2018, where I started off as a substitute teacher working for the Detroit Public School Community District. I started off teaching 1st grade and enjoyed the students so much that I went on to substitute teach 4th-8th grade. Another opportunity presented itself, and I started working as a paraprofessional, working with students with autism, as well as students who were cognitively impaired and/or emotionally impaired. It was nothing but pure joy and inspiration working with these students. They truly motivated me to become a hard-working, yet innovative educator, and really taught me the meaning of patience is a virtue. Recently, I was given an opportunity to tutor high school students in reading intervention, SAT/ACT prep, essay writing, and college prep. Working alongside these students really inspired me to want to learn more about how to better communicate, motivate, and be of service to the youth as a whole.
