About Sabrina I.
Buon giorno! I'm Sabrina. I specialize in language instruction (Italian and French) and have spent the past 15+ years working with students of all ages, as both a classroom teacher and a private tutor.
I hold a Doctorate in Modern Languages, and offer highly individualized and engaging lessons to meet your personal goals, interests and above all, learning styles. I provide extensive feedback and encouraging guidance to help students continue to succeed independently.
I love sharing my knowledge of and passion for the Italian language and culture with others. I infuse a variety of cultural topics into each language lesson, depending on your personal interests and/or travel plans. You will certainly find my passion contagious! But I realize learning a language isn't easy for everyone, and it can be quite intimidating to feel confident while speaking. That's why you need a teacher who can figure out what works for you, how you learn, and what motivates you. Everyone can speak beautiful Italian, and engage in conversations for business or pleasure, but it takes a knowledgeable instructor to help get you there efficiently. I can quickly assess and pinpoint your strengths to design activities that help you precisely where and how you need it, and have plenty of effective tricks up my sleeve.
I lived and worked in Italy for about 10 years, in educational tourism, and since moving back to the US I have taught Italian at both the High School and University/College levels for about 4 years each, as well as Community and Continuing Adult Education classes for the past 6 years, and I have training in AP exam prep. Although I have native-fluency, I have myself been a student of foreign languages, and know the struggles that come along with this exciting adventure. I know how to help you get past those hurdles, and have fun along the way.
To learn more about me, my lessons, or to ask me any questions, do not hesitate to send me a message and I will respond within a few hours. I look forward to hearing from you. A presto! (Talk to you soon.)

Sabrina is wonderful. She's exactly what I hoped to find in my teacher. I speak some Italian, but I have gaps in my understanding correct usage of pronouns and several basic verbs. Our conversations bring those gaps out, and we work on correcting them. Sabrina is Patient, funny, calm, and professional. She manages to make me feel good about where I am, how far I have come, and where I am going with this beautiful language. Bravissima!

Absolutely wonderful!!!

Sabrina has a mastery of both the Italian language and its nuances, which make her a true Speaker and valuable Teacher. Her bubbly personality allows her to deliver lessons that are fun and informative. I'm loving my lessons!

Sabrina was the right fit for me!

Wonderful!

This was a great first lesson. Sabrina is enthusiastic and tailors the lesson based on personal goals!

Sabrina is great; giving lot's of background to help frame things for me, and is very patience. I am over 65 and this is the first (other) language that I have ever tried to learn, so it's hard. But with Sabrina's help, I may just get there...

Sabrina is a delightful and exceptionally skilled teacher. Her passion for the Italian language and her genuine, caring attitude help create a wonderful learning experience.

Great time!
Sabrina was quite patient ,encouraging , and quickly able to tailor lessons to my particular circumstances and learning style.
I highly recommend her

I had a great first lesson; Sabrina was organized and knowledgeable and tailored it to my needs!

I've been taking lessons with Sabrina now for almost a year. Our lesson location varies depending on our schedules, sometimes we meet at a local coffee shop, other times we meet virtually. Sabrina is a fabulous teacher, but she's also just a super great person. She has a great sense of humor and makes the challenge of learning a second language enjoyable and fun. I cannot recommend her enough!

I took lessons with Sabrina over several years in small group settings. She always made the meetings fun and addressed the group's individual needs. She was always prepared with great ideas. Sabrina gave me confidence to engage in conversation in Italy on my early trips and then helped me prepare for a 2-week course at a language school in Italy. I was able to get into one of the more advanced classes, thanks in large part to Sabrina's tutoring. I was sad to move away from Sabrina's location and the opportunity for classes but am happy to see the online option.

Sabrina is an excellent teacher. She is responsive, knowledgable, organized, and kind. My husband and I began our instruction in the classroom setting, and we were so impressed with her skill that we migrated to private lessons. We enjoyed our lessons, and were assisted in our instruction with relevant handouts, homework, and of course, our emailed questions were always promptly answered. Highly recommended.

Sabrina is not only fluent in Italian, she's an outstanding and enthusiastic teacher. She pushes you when you're feeling hesitant, and in so doing builds your confidence. She makes the experience both productive and fun.

What a fabulous platform to use for language teaching! I am delighted to find that I can still keep my students engaged and having fun while they learn TONS of Italian online during these crazy times of only distance learning.

I love teaching these students (age 6-10 years). It’s such a different approach than teaching high school, university, or Communiry Education, and has helped my lessons be even more playful and creative!
