    About Ryne S.

My work as a composer explores the intersections of art and music, bringing focus to the idiosyncrasies of music creation and sonic processes. Environmentalism, aestheticism, psychology, modern Jazz, and social justice are at the forefront of his compositional influences. My work has been performed by Hypercube, Invicta Sax Quartet, Braeburn Brass Quintet, Robert Black, Lindsay Garritson, and Laura Silva, among others. My music has been featured at several festivals and conventions including the Society of Composers, International Trumpet Guild, Charlotte New Music Festival, N_SEME, and SEAMUS. Recently, my piece for 8.1 channel fixed media entitled "...grind..." was selected for programming on the 2020 SEAMUS National Conference, International New Music Festival at USF, Cube Fest, and NYCEMF. The piece was also selected for the New Music by Living Composers Series with Petrichor Records. Additionally, my work for Large Ensemble and Fixed Media entitled “Inheritor” was named the winner of the Ensemble Ibis Composition Competition. I am currently a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music where I am working towards my Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition. I believe that any student, regardless of age, skill, impairment, or background, has the inherent ability to succeed either on a personal or professional level. I have a deep passion for composition and music theory and would love to discuss the prospect of lessons with you!
