We just haven’t found anyone like Ryan after he left for lessons. Hopefully if he comes back to Michigan both my kids can do lessons with him again!
Ryan was an amazing teacher for drums and percussion! He personally taught me on Tenors and was my Drum Tech for 3 years. He has been the best Tech that i have ever had. I highly recommend Ryan. You will be very happy with the results! He definitely knows how to teach anyone drums.+ Read More
Ryan was my private instructor for 4 years, and I would not be the same musician I am today without him. Through his guidance I went from an average member of the high school band, to the drum captain of the drum line, to eventually entering Belmont University's School of Music as a percussionist. Anyone can learn something from Ryan. His teaching style is versatile and malleable, as he has a very good understanding of what a student needs. I highly recommend considering Ryan Jonker as your private instructor.+ Read More
I came to Ryan in 7th grade not knowing anything about marching snare drum. Over a year later I have learned so much. My goal was to be on drum line my freshman year and he help make that happen with his lessons.
I may not have taken lessons from Ryan for a very long time but in those few months, it wasn't hard to tell how organized and skillful he is in teaching his specialty. He taught me snare drum and helped me figure out everything from the basics to the actual show beats. Also, when I switched to lessons with Ryan, I was suprised to find how organized a lesson teacher can get. He created a google doc and updated it with what I need to work on so I knew what to practice every lesson.+ Read More
