I've been playing Saxophone for 10 years now. Ranging from Funk Bands, to Big-bands, Musical Pits, Rock/Jazz/Pop Studio sessions etc.
I cannot count the amount of teachers I have had. However, I consider that my most influential teacher for saxophone to be Kevin Garren, pro·té·gé of the great Eric Marienthal. He whipped me into shape and now I can do the same for you.

I was very impressed with how Ryan engaged my son during his first lesson. He was able to make it fun and educational for him. I think what made a huge difference was his ability to hone in on what what kinds on music my son was interested in and some how work it in to the initial lesson plan. He showed him how much fun it could be and then was able to incorporate the basics from there. Also, he is extremely patient and laid back making it stress free. Thank you for a great lesson! We look forward to continuing more.Show More
I've been trying to learn piano 19 years now and after just one lesson with kid everything seems soo clear. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE!
We scheduled Ryan to come to our house at a specific time to teach our 15 YO son. He did not show up and called 2 hours after the scheduled time to say he was misinformed by Take Lessons as to the time (even though we had confirmed the time at the beginning). We planned to resume the following week and again he did not show up. He did not reply to texts, his voicemail was not set up on his phone and he made no efforts to let us know that he had cancelled with us.
What a flake and a disappointment!
We just had our first lesson and it couldn't have gone better. I have an 8 year old son with pretty severe ADD and Ryan could not have been more patient and kind with him, following him from one room to the next while teaching him. It's now three hours after the lesson and he has not put the clarinet down. He has been practicing all 6 notes that Ryan taught him. 😬Show More
Great teacher! My daughter is very happy.
Ryan is teaching beginning piano to my 8 y.o. son, who's ADHD-squirrely and demands a mountain of patience from any teacher. Ryan is unflappable. He breaks up the lesson with different activities. First he'll teach a new piece, then sets aside the book to play a bass groove that my son can improvise freely over, then does something else again. Knows music inside and out and backwards and forwards, and the low-key, spontaneous approach works great for us.Show More
Ryan's approach to teaching is rather unconventional. As he doesnt go by textbooks or run through a predetermined Curriculum. He seems to have a natural feeling for music backed by a solid knowledge of music theory. He is able to convey that in a spontaneous and individual way that keeps learning entertaining and isnt overbearing. It's been fun and efficient.Show More
This guy is great. He knows what you want to learn and more on flute, clarinet, all of the saxophones. Not only does he get excellent tone on all of these instruments, he knows why. Get lessons before you wish you could.
Ryan is a great teacher.I am an older student and he has been
very patient. He is very knowlegeable and is eager to
pass this to his students.A very humble individual
I'm really happy to have found great teacher.
Ryan is an amazing musician and really helped me step up my game.
So many teachers make you take lessons from scratch to see how much you have learned and go over the material again with you to fix errors. It is so boring for me!!! I hate that. I'm sure it works for some people. I like to play my hardest song and then go from there instead! He did no for met. He caught on right away, exactly where I needed help. I didn't waste hours and hours of tedious lessons that I would quit rather than have to do that same material again! Also, he breaks things down that are very complicated, to easy to understand chunks and bits to make it easy.Show More
Ryan gave me a great flute lesson!
Ryan G. is by far the best, most patient and humble teacher I've ever had. He is crazy talented and passionate about music and his positive energy is contagious! Don't miss your chance to work with him before he gets too famous.
