    About Ruzanna S.

Hi there and welcome to my page! My name is Ruzanna and I was born in Kazakhstan (which was a part of Soviet Union until it broke up). I was born in the artistically inclined family and all my siblings played piano, sang, drew and danced since early childhood. I, in particular found dancing more attractive and so my love to this beautiful art began. At the age of 9, I started dancing with the local dance company and by the age of 14 I had toured all over my country and took several top places at different dance competitions. At the age of 19 I obtained my BA with distinction as a pedagogue-choreographer from Kazakh National Academy of Arts. My main areas of teaching include ballet (Russian School), characteristic and historical dances. A year later I moved to the United States and currently reside in Chatsworth, CA with my husband and my baby boy, teaching ballet and choreography to my students, as well as to rhythmic gymnasts in my spare time. I teach all levels of ballet and all ages. Everyone is different, therefore I plan my class in accordance with such differences. I encourage my students to be the best they can be and improve their own abilities instead of trying to be better than someone else. Everyone has their own light to spread and I help each of my student find their special light. Ballet is a hard work and requires a lot of discipline and dedication. It also requires a great amount of thinking ability and coordination of both brain hemispheres. I believe that this art develops not only your physical abilities, but mental abilities as well, and such impact can help anyone in every day life - in school, at work, with self improvement, in goals achievement. While I give a lot of information and challenge my students, I keep my classes light and interesting at the same time, combining education with fun. Standard ballet class consists of warm up, barre and stretching followed by exercises in the center of the room - including jumps, turns and dance movements. Advanced levels use pointes shoes as well. Upon request I can also teach ballet variations, create solo or group routines, prepare for a competition. Whether you want to try ballet to stay fit or chose ballet as a professional path - I can help accomplish your goals, offering QUALITY service and sharing all my knowledge and expertise with you. Look forward to hear from you!
