    About Rosamond V.

    About the author Rosamond Tudor van der Linde is a noted piano teacher, pianist, and author of numerous articles for music journals. She has founded five ongoing music schools in the U.S.A. and Canada, as well as one in the Caribbean, on the Island of St. Eustatius and now in Florida. Her students have won local, regional, and national competitions in piano and composition, and some have had their works performed in Carnegie Hall. The Sonatina School of Music was featured in The New York Times (2002), in Piano Lessons by Noah Adams (of National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered”), and on CNN Evening News (2003). It has also been written about in Yankee Magazine, Seventeen, Keyboard Companion, Clavier, and The Piano Quarterly. Rosamond has given master classes on pedagogy and contemporary music in Holland, Australia, the Caribbean, Japan, and New York City’s Steinway Hall. She has lectured at Boston University, The Longy School of Music, Erie College, Dartmouth College, Bennington College, and Ithaca College. She has served as President of the Music Teachers’ National Association in the State of Vermont. She and her husband, Rein van der Linde, were inducted into The Vermont Academy of Arts and Sciences, for outstanding contributions to the cultural resources of the State of Vermont. Rosamond earned her B.A. at Bennington College; she wrote weekly articles about her school for the Bennington Banner for forty years, and concert reviews for thirty years. This is her first book. She is presently writing her second book. Rosamond recently won the Walloomsac award along with her daughter Polly. The prize was for history, education and arts in the town of Bennington, VT. Rosamond was awarded for 68 years of superior teaching and creating the Sonatina Schools. Rosamond enjoys hiking, cycling, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, contra-dancing, walking, Pickle ball, and table tennis. She also likes the study of nature in the tropics, gardening, reading, music, and teaching.
