Mr. Ronnie W. is native from Dallas, Texas. Mr. W attended Dallas Lincoln Humanities / Communications Magnet High School. As a student of music growing up he was taught how to play the saxophone during his 7th grade year. Mr. W. started to flourish on the instrument and was quickly moved from Beginning Band to Advanced Band. Mr. W. continued to play Saxophone all through High School. As a Senior in High School he was honored with several different scholarship opportunities to attend the college of his choice. Mr. W. chose Grambling State University where he participated in several different bands and organizations. In 2004 I created a group in honor of Grover Washington, Jr., which is named after his Grammy Award winning album "Winelight Jazz". Throughout his career Mr. W. has been instrumental in helping students to make it to the State Music Festivals. Background Check has been done through Texas Teacher Background and is available upon request.

    Texas Music Educators Association

    Aug, 2002

Begun in 1920 as the Texas Band Teachers Association, the Texas Music Educators Association is an organization of over 10,000 school music educators dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. TMEA is comprised of five divisions: Band, Orchestra, Vocal, Elementary and College. On behalf of its members and Texas schoolchildren, TMEA carefully monitors the actions of all state decision-making bodies on issues affecting fine arts instruction in Texas. In addition to many member benefits, TMEA offers professional development opportunities for its members with Region workshops and especially with its annual Clinic/Convention. TMEA supports the future of music education by offering scholarships to music education majors and by sponsoring the Texas Future Music Educators, an organization through which high school students interested in careers in music education learn more about what to expect in their college education and future careers.
