I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics (GPA 3.72) and my Master's degree in Applied Statistics (GPA 4.0) at Rutgers University. I have had the pleasure in being a tutor since 2006.
I was a tutor at Rutgers University for 6 years during my tenure as an undergraduate & Graduate student tutoring Math, Economics, and Statistics. I continue to assist students with diverse backgrounds and learning needs. My students range from middle school through college/graduate level. I tutor all levels of Mathematics and Statistics.
Currently, I am a professional Statistician analyzing big data for a living and tutoring on the side.
The qualities that I possess as a tutor are that I'm passionate about the subject matter to help students be engaged in the subject matter, very knowledgeable in the subject matter which will enable me to fill in the gaps in knowledge that the student may have, and I'm patient as I understand the struggles that the student is experiencing in trying to learn the new concepts.
Although I work full time as a Statistician, I find time to enjoy what I love to do and that is to continue to help students meet their academic goals in the areas of Mathematics and Statistics.
I have many past practice problems and past exams which I have acquired over the years from past students, which I provide to new students for more practice.
I provide real life examples when explaining concepts, which often helps students appreciate and better understand the concept(s) they are trying to grasp.
I helped first generation diverse students with various learning needs gain a better understanding and achieve better grades in their Mathematics, Economics, and Statistical courses.
The math courses I taught included Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I,II, & III, Intro to Micro and Macro Economics, Intermediate Micro & Macro Economics, Econometrics & Advanced Econometrics, Statistical Courses...
Tutoring for 6 years at Rutgers has been a very rewarding experience. As a tutor, I have been able to help over 200 students at Rutgers achieve their academic goals!
The Certificate in Quantitative Economics (CQE) is awarded to students who complete the demanding course requirements in economics, statistics, mathematics, and computer science. It is open to students in any major, but will be most readily completed by those majoring in economics with a minor, or double major in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or mathematical statistics.
Students who have completed the CQE have some of the background necessary for graduate programs in economics, statistics, business administration, finance, and quantitative finance, among others, as well as for positions in consulting, investment banking, actuarial science, financial operations and more.
He's just great!
my daughter had her first lesson with Ronald and felt that he was extremely competent and helpful in getting her on track with her statistics course.
