Hello! I'm Ron-Jay Gage, and I hope to meet you. I have over 20 years of experience playing the drums, and I can help you with all styles of percussion that require sticks. I have a Music Performance degree from The Musician's Institute where I studied technique with multi-time world rudimental snare drum champion Rob Carson (teacher of Virgil Donati, Ringo Starr, Terry Bozzio to name a few), as well as drum kit applications with authors and educators like Chuck Silverman (The Latin/Funk Connection), Fred Dinkins (It's About Time), Gary Hess (The Encyclopedia of Reading Rhythms), Jeff Bowders (Double Bass Drumming), and dozens of other professionals with decades of experience in all styles of music. I have also studied classical percussion at Indiana University with Braham Dembar, Principal Percussionist of the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra. For over 20 years I have been an active writer, arranger, recording artist and performer of original music, and I have been teaching since 2012. My curriculum derives largely from the curricula of the best instructors in the country, and you never leave empty handed.
Note: Online lessons are generally Hand Technique ONLY; demonstrations on a drum pad.
