Hi, folks! This is Rodrigo, a clarinet player born in Spain and raised musically in Portugal and the US! My main background is Classical and Contemporary music but I also do some collaborations in Popular and Traditional kinds of music. Music brought me in adventures in countries like Portugal, France, Poland, Greece, or Indonesia collaborating with different orchestras, ensembles, and playing solo recitals. I really like exchanging musical thoughts and teaching based in all what I learned until now. I got my performance undergrad in Porto (Portugal), and my Master's Degree in Northwestern University in Chicago.
Music for me is a big part of my life and I would say my main focus to build up my own path. For that reason, I did have great moments that I don't hesitate to show and share with everyone. It is a beautiful lifestyle and that is what I base my teaching on. Avoiding psychological pressures but in an honest and healthy teaching, I will help my students to reach a high level of performance and musical technique based on this instrument.
I am currently teaching in the Chicago area and gigging around in some orchestral, chamber, and new music projects!
Rodrigo is an incredible teacher! He is very kind and patient which makes learning easier and more enjoyable. He also has a great sense of humor and likes to make sure you're having fun! He always makes me smile. I can tell that he is also a good teacher for all levels of students because of his amazing patience and because of his incredible musical ideas and tricks for making things easier.+ Read More
