I began playing Clarinet in middle school band. I quickly discovered that music was what I wanted to do with my life. Through years of hard work, I began to make that dream a reality. I studied Clarinet Performance with Robert Chesebro at Furman University where I earned my Bachelors degree in Music Performance. I began teaching at this time and loved every minute of it. From there I went to LSU for graduate school and studied with Robert DiLutis. I joined the US Army as a Clarinet player and spent 4 years performing with the 82nd Airborne Division All-American Band and Chorus. I love teaching and I love making music. I've had many different experiences that I believe contribute to my teaching style in positive ways. My only goal in teaching is the success of my students. If you learn anything new from me then I consider that a success. Let's make music together!

Roddy is a super clarinet instructor. Our son was seeking audition prep and building confidence in his technique. Roddy was always on time, polite and encouraging. He is a great communicator with children. He provided helpful guidance on the use of complementary tools such as a metronome. He recommended adjustments on the instrument which provided optimal play and made it easier for our son to achieve his goals. We would highly recommend Roddy as a Clarinet teacher without reservation.

Roddy arrives early. I am totally new to clarinet. Today's guidance has been very productive. He is a wonderful teacher of his trade, and I am glad that I found him on here. I would highly recommend him for lessons.
